A New Year’s Touchdown
The much-anticipated 2015 season finally kicks off for the WTA this week, both Down Under and in Southern China at the Brisbane International, the ASB Classic in Auckland and the Shenzhen Open, respectively.
Social media was inundated with posts from players descending into the New Year. From luggage to airport insights the tournament headliners took it upon themselves to start their season off with a bang.

Ever the social media maverick, Roger Federer took to Twitter this week, armed with a personalized hashtag for fans. #Emojisinpics bucked the trend for a slew of funny photos sent in to the Swiss Maestro. Lets hope some recreates my personal favorite…π (the painted nails).

News broke this week of otherwise reserved Sam Stosur’s bombastic debut to Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. With a rather charming handle by way of @bambamsam30, it’ll be interesting to see the 2011 US Open winner share her personal life with the world. With an amassed 2.7k followers in under 18 hours, the TTI staff urges you dear readers to give her a follow.
